My Review:

After a long time, I read a rom-com book. I decided to read this book in December the instant I pick it. Because it was set in Christmas time and I thought it would be a best book for cozy December. I should admit one thing that I slept a lot when I opened this book😂, not because of the story but the weather outside was speechless and the warm words coming from this book which definitely makes any person to fall asleep immediately😊.

Coming to the story, It was a very calm, pleasant story which mainly focused on the Christmas theme park. I have never been to any Christmas theme park before or any winter wonderlands. This book gave me a glance of it. This book also clearly showed one thing that there will be a child in each and every person who always wants a companion who can understand their innocence. When trust is formed and that person holds faith in them, whatever the cause might be they don’t leave them or get abandoned by that person. If that thing happens, it takes time to recover. But that doesn’t mean everything got collapsed in that person’s life and there is nothing to live for. Don’t you guys agree with that?
I like some lines from this book which beautifully described how to live a life:

Life is a precious commodity and for the living it is a privilege not a right, and as such should be treated like a peach – tasted, savoured and drained of its every drop juice.

Aunt Evelyn

Coming to the characters, Aunt Evelyn is my favorite character. She likes little things and finds happiness in them. She’s a very confident, stubborn, good hearted woman with great humor. Though the story starts with her death, she is the main person in the story. Now coming to the male and female protagonists Jacques Glace and Eve Douglas, just like we expect in every rom-coms, these two are perfect together. But one thing I am very much captivated is the presentation of Eve Douglas character. Eve, a heartbroken person and lost her love, who always stays in her cocoon and avoids the real world. But she is a hard working independent person and kill herself with work which is her only way to keep her away from thinking about other stuff. To outside she looks stubborn but actually she is so scared of inviting a person into her life and be happy again. She restricts herself to move on and give her life a chance to live. But life is always full of twists and turns and plays with us. It happened with Eve too. Life has given her a chance in the form of Jacques and she can’t restrict herself anymore.

Talking about the writing part, the author perfectly put the characters in place and clearly defined their personalities. When you are reading this book you’ll definitely feel one thing like ‘yes! this is the way it should be’ in each and every scene. I felt very comfortable while reading this book.

Spoiler Alert:

Actually the synopsis itself revealed most of the main plot. But you can feel it only by reading it. I think the author is obsessed about the military stuff and people. We may all read the lives of the military officers who fought hard for their nation and lost their lives, but most of us (or me) didn’t read about how the families or the loved ones of those officers suffer their loss. This book clearly portrayed their emotions through the characters.

We may all think these kind of stories are very common and we can easily guess what happens next. But sometimes there will be some points we may not notice and who knows they may be the best suggestions we are waiting for so long time 🤷‍♀️. This book is suitable for those who are always interested in watching Hallmark movies or some other rom-coms.

Happy reading friends! 😊
